Recently, Voith, a paper equipment manufacturer, announced that it had received orders from Nine Dragons Paper to deliver three XcelLine paper machines for the production of high-strength kraftliners and white kraftliners.

Nine Dragons Paper is the biggest manufacturer of packaging paper in China, and the launch of three new production lines will further strengthen its position as a leader in the packaging paper sector. The three paper machines are scheduled to be put into operation between 2022 and 2023.

The three paper machines ordered have the same specifications, with a daily capacity of up to 2,400 metric tons each and a production speed of 1,400 meters per minute. Based on the data, the maximum annual capacity of a single machine can reach 800,000 tons.

In order to meet the high-standard production requirements of Nine Dragons Paper, the components of the paper machines are extremely high-performing and robust. The elaborate former design of the machines, which are equipped with a DuoFormer DII E, allows for the required speed with high basis weights at the same time. The press sections each feature a Triple NipcoFlex press, which ensures excellent surface smoothness of white kraftliners. Due to the double unwind configuration and a fully automated full reel change, the high-performance TwinDrive winder enables fast and efficient winding and thereby ensures a winder capacity that is up to 20 percent higher than conventional unwinding systems.

Voith did not disclose exactly where the three paper machines will be installed. According to the information that has been made public, Nine Dragons Paper will have new papermaking projects in Jingzhou(in Hubei province), Beihai(in Guangxi province), and Shenyang(in Liaoning province).
